We see a lot of garages in our line of work, at facilities all across the US. There's on huge issue which I've been harping on for years, and it has to do with oil and how it relates to environmental compliance issues.
The question is; used oil vs. waste oil - what's the difference?
Well the short answer is a lot.
For facilities or operations with a big fleet of vehicles, you're bound to have a garage. In the garage, on the yard, or anywhere those trucks are used, you're bound to find new oil for the trucks. Where does the old, used oil go? It's normally held onsite in a container, either to be burned in a heating unit, trucked offsite, or some held for other use. These tanks more often than not are labelled waste oil - or worse yet, not labelled at all, and described as the waste oil t
Proper handling techniques do not end when oil has been put into service. Once the life of the oil has been exceeded, you must ensure the lubricant is captured and disposed of both safely and in an environmentally friendly way. To achieve this goal, it is essential to employ best practices for used oil management.
Waste Oil vs. Used Oil
Many people use the terms “waste oil” and “used oil” interchangeably. While both labels may identify the same fluid, from a regulatory standpoint there is a significant difference. Used oil is defined by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as follows:
“Used oil is any oil that has been refined from crude oil or any synthetic oil that has been used and as a result of such use is contaminated by physical or chemical impurities.”

تعریف و طبقه بندی پسماندهای بهداشتی و درمانی
پسماندهای بهداشتی درمانی شامل: کلیه پسماندهای تولید شده بوسیله مراکز و موسساتی از قبیل بیمارستانها، مراکز بهداشتی درمانی، آزمایشگا ههای تشخیص طبی وتحقیقاتی وسایر مراکز مشابه است.
پسماندهای تولید شده بوسیله مراکز فوق شامل دو دسته عمده زیر است.
گروه 1- پسماندهای خطرناک که خود به چهار دسته زیر تقسیم می شوند:
الف –پسماند های عفونی شامل:
- کلیه پسماندهای آلوده به خون و فرآورده های خونی.
- کلیه پسماند

شهر هوشمند مفهومی است که چند سال است بسیار شنیده می شود. هدف از این ایده، استفاده از ظرفیت های اینترنت و فناوری اطلاعات و ارتباطات در مدیریت یک شهر یا یک منطقه شهری است.مهمترین اهداف ایجاد شهرهای هوشمند انجام کارها در سریعترین زمان و ارائه خدمات مناسب به شهروندان و همچنین جلوگیری از اتلاف سرمایه و انرژی است.
در دهه های اخیر و با توجه به افزایش جمعیت و همچنین تمایل به مصرف گرایی، حجم زباله های تولیدی بسیار بیشتر شده است که مدیریت آنها از دغدغ
فلز ماده ارزشمندی است که در صنایع زیادی بویژه در ساخت و ساز کاربرد دارد. این ماده گرانبها قدیمی ترین محصولی است که از خیلی پیش تر توسط انسان بازیافت می شده است. چرا که می تواند بارها بازیافت شود، بدون اینکه خواص خود را از دست بدهد و یا کیفیتش تغییر کند. به ضایعات فلزی از قدیم، آهن قراضه نیز گفته می شود، اما این ضایعات تنها در محدوده آهن نیست و فلزات دیگر مانند مس و آلومنیوم و قلع و ... را نیز شامل می شود.
بازیافت فلز
بازیافت فلزات باعث کاهش استخر
بسته بندی محصولات غذایی عمدتا از جنس پلاستیک و کاغذ است. هر چه جوامع پیشرفته تر می شوند صنعت بسته بندی نیز به روز تر و حرفه ای تر می شود. شرکت ها بر سر طراحی زیباتر و بهتر رقابت می کنند. از طرفی افزایش میل به خرید اینترنتی، علاقه به خوراکی های بیرون بر، سفارش آنلاین غذا و ... علایق نوظهوری است که با ماشینی شدن شهرها و کشورها به وجود آمده است. چند دهه قبل تر تقریبا اثری از سفارش آنلاین نبود و مردم نوشیدنی و قهوه را در کافه یا رستوران مصرف می کردند.
بر اساس مطالعات جدید منتشر شده یک سوم از کل مواد غذایی مصرفی یک انسان به زباله تبدیل می شود. این تحقیق که در مجله PLOS One منتشر شده است بیان می کند که در سالهای گذشته نصف این مقدار مواد غذایی به پسماند تبدیل می شد.
این مطالعه عنوان می کند که در سطح جهانی، اگر زباله های غذایی را یک کشور در نظر بگیریم، سومین کشور در زمینه انتشار گازهای گلخانه ای در جهان است. میزان کربنی که از تولید مواد غذایی در بخش های مختلف به وجود می آید حدود 3.3 میلیارد تن می باشد.
در فرهنگ عامه به زباله ها "دور انداختنی" گفته می شود و یا می گوییم که فلان زباله را دور انداختیم. این واژه از کجا می آید؟ از تنفر انسان به همزیستی با زباله ها، که تمایل دارد هر آنچه زاید و به کار نیامدنی است خیلی دورتر از خودش باشد. که البته کاملا درست است. زباله ها باید خیلی دورتر از انسان باشند. اما مگر زمین چقدر گنجایش دارد که روزانه این حجم از زباله را در سرتاسر جهان در خود بگنجاند آن هم خیلی دورتر از محیط زندگی انسان ها.
با گذشت سالها و تولید
احسان و اطعام در مناسبت های مذهبی، یکی از آداب فرهنگی ایرانیان و راهی برای ابراز ارادت به ساحت پیشوایان دینی تلقی می شود. در پی این گونه فعالیت ها حجم قابل توجهی پسماند تولید می شود که از دیدگاه مدیریت پسماند، رسیدگی و توجه به آن ضروری است. در یک سامانه جامع پسماند این دست موضوعات باید پیش بینی شده باشند.
پسماند ایستگاه های صلواتی
در گذشته در ایستگاه های صلواتی پسماند کمتری تولید می شد زیرا از لیوان ها و استکان های شیشه ای برای ارائه نوشیدنی
در مطالب گذشته پسماندهای بیمارستانی و پزشکی و میزان خطر آنها مورد مطالعه قرار گرفت. اما روش دفع و جلوگیری از خطرات این نوع زباله ها جای بحث های بسیار دارد. سازمانهای مربوطه موظفند این پسماندها را به گونه ای که کمترین خطر برای محیط زیست و انسان داشته باشد را دفع کنند.
با گسترش بیماریهایی از قبیل ایدز و هپاتیت B و توجه به دفع مناسب اینگونه مواد از جمله اقدامات مهم بهداشتی محسوب می شود. به منظور جلوگیری از انتشار عوامل باکتریهایی، ویروسی و انگل
